What are your thoughts about Mental Health Services? We'd love to hear your feedback.

The Patient & Client Council Engagement Platform  meets monthly online.

This is open to any service users, carers or interested parties across NI.

Contact Ann-Marie if you’d like any more info.   Ann-Marie.Doone@pcc-ni.net

The group has shared the following questionnaire for service user and carer feedback across Southern Trust  area. Your feedback can be returned to Ann-Marie at the email address above.

Your Feedback is welcome in whatever format or leangth you are comfortable with. Below are some question themes to help you form your response, but please don't feel you have to answer these specifically, or only them - they represent the kind of things the Engagement group would love to hear.

 General Experience

  1. How would you describe your current experience of communication from mental health services? (e.g., timely, confusing, supportive, inconsistent, etc.)
  2. Have you ever been involved in any engagement activities (consultations, co-production, feedback forums) with the mental health service?
    • If yes, how was that experience for you?
    • If no, would you like to be? Why or why not?

 Preferred Channels

  1. How do you usually hear about updates or changes in mental health services (if at all)?
(e.g., email, social media, posters, health staff, word of mouth)
  2. What would be your preferred way to receive information or updates about mental health services?
  3. Are there any formats that don’t work well for you?
(e.g., written leaflets, long documents, videos, etc.)

 Trust and Transparency

  1. Do you feel that the information you receive from the mental health service is clear and honest?
    (What could be improved?)
  2. Have you ever felt your voice was heard or acted upon when you shared feedback with mental health services?
    • What would make you feel more listened to?

 Involvement and Voice

  1. How involved do you feel in decisions that affect mental health services in your area?
(Would you like more involvement? In what way?)
  2. What does meaningful engagement look like to you?
(e.g., being asked for feedback, invited to help design services, regular check-ins)
  3. If the service wanted your help designing better communication or engagement tools, would you be interested?
    • If yes: What would help make it accessible and comfortable for you?

 Barriers

  1. Are there things that make it difficult for you (or others you know) to engage with the mental health service?
(e.g., language, internet access, lack of confidence, unclear processes)

 Future Thinking

  1. What’s one thing the mental health service could do that would help you feel more included or better supported?
  2. Are there any people or groups you think are being left out of communication or engagement efforts?
(Who should we be reaching more?)
